Our Team

When Heather and Gary met, they came to learn that we were both connected by loss. Heather lost her boyfriend to a long illness in 2014 while Gary’s wife of 29 years passed away suddenly and tragically in 2018. After meeting quite randomly while listening to live music, they struck up a conversation and soon discovered their loved ones were both laid to rest in the same cemetery. 

Heather used to run events at the Newport Beach Tennis Club, and she believed that tennis could be an excellent way to help Gary work through his grief and meet new people. It turns out that Gary had started to play tennis a bit more before their meeting, and he had done so as a kid, so it wasn’t a giant leap for him to play more regularly. They started hitting together, and Gary joined a club in April 2019. From that point forward, tennis has been central to their lives.

Heather and Gary view The TenniSphere experience as one that will be extraordinarily additive to their lives. They view themselves as proprietors of a resort-style, boutique hotel with the personal touch of a bed and breakfast. Given this, and their desire to know their guests with the potential to form lasting relationships with them, they strongly desire to be present during their guests’ stays. This will allow for an even better experience and more personal service to ensure that everyone’s needs are taken care of. Heather is an extraordinary hostess and can help arrange for meals to be prepared at the house, tennis events, as well as coordinate experiences outside The TenniSphere.

Given the home and property size, Heather and Gary’s presence can be as little or as involved as our guests’ desire. We only want to be present to ensure our guests have an extraordinary experience.
